Here is the shape of the frameworks we are going to walk through, so you can see how they fit together as forethought for building products for delivery.
First, the product-company gap: understanding the chasm between having a product and having a scalable company, and why product-market fit alone does not get you across.
Second, designing for product go-to-market fit (not just product-market fit): developing and validating value, then targeting and segmenting so your product fits the market. This includes the value proposition, the minimum viable segment, and building a repeatable product.
Third, architecting your business model to attract customers: designing slippery products (the SLIP / SLIPPERY framework, closely related to product-led growth), packaging and pricing for pull, and whole-product partnerships.
The recurring theme underneath all of it: think like an architect. Plan up front. If you want to end up a profitable company that drops 20% straight to the bottom line, with a product that flies off the shelves, then design both the product and the company for that outcome from day one. It does not require a ton of extra work. It just requires thinking.
